The Yards at York Minster (18 Apr 2008)
Following their sold out performance in October 2004 the Yards return to York Minster on THURSDAY MAY 29TH for a very special concert in aid of local York charities. Once again joined by Hayley Hutchinson and other special guests, showcasing songs from their upcoming second album as well as material from their eponymous debut, with the full string arrangements, harmonies and orchestration that are befitting of such a spectacular venue! The performance will take place within the intimate surroundings of the Quire and tickets are strictly limited to 400. All proceeds from this fabulous night will be split equally between the Guardian Angels appeal raising money to fund a new high dependency unit at York Hospital's children's ward and York Minsters Development Campaign to restore the East End. Tickets: £10 adv, available from the reception of Church House (Ogleforth, York, YO1 7NJ) and Fibbers, The Stonebow, York.
You're all going to heaven ... (19 Dec 2006)
A huge thanks and respect to Saturday night's bands - Mostly Autumn, Chris Helme and Hijack Oskar - and everybody who came along to the show. Not forgetting everybody who bought tickets even though they couldn't come anyway, and everybody who emptied their pockets in to the bucket at the end of the night. Just short of £1700 was raised for The Guardian Angels Appeal, a fund organised by The Yorkshire Evening Press to provide improved baby care facilities at York Hospital. Hey, and the music was a bit special too ...
So it's not just us then ... (13 Aug 2006)
The legendary and utterly wonderful CBGBs; the late USA home of underground and punk; you all wear the T-shirts. They checked ID too. They were strict on drugs and underage drinking as well. They also had nights when nobody turned up. So it's not just Fibbers, then. Have a look at THIS written by the CBGBs staff. Well well well ...
