The live show is fronted by UK hip hop legend Dr Syntax and verbal acrobat Sparkz so it’s no wonder they’re firm festival and club favourites at festivals having built a loyal fan base playing with many of the world’s finest hip hop acts including Chali 2na, Souls Of Mischief, Akil the MC and The Sugarhill Gang.
Their reputation as a high quality live act resulted in two invitations to perform at the BBC’s legendary Maida Vale Studios in London, and the band take their brand of funk, jazz and reggae influenced hip hop to France, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic and Croatia, with key slots at prestigious festivals such as Soundwave, Outlook and Fusion.
After successful touring and a giant summer of playing all major festivals on main stages and with the release of second album ‘Step Steadier’ – The Mouse Outfit are touring again, sharing stages with the likes of DJ Premier and other hip hop heavyweights.
DR SYNTAX is well known for his solo work and collaborations with Foreign Beggars, having featured on their first four studio albums. His extensive touring has also taken him to festivals such as Glastonbury, Splash! (Germany), Hip Hop Kemp (Czech Republic), Outlook and Soundwave (Croatia).
SPARKZ is one of the most hyped young MCs in the UK – hosting hip hop and bass music events from London and Manchester to Outlook (Croatia). He is most noted for his collaborations with The Mouse Outfit and Dub Phizix.
“Proving it’s not always grim up North, The Mouse Outfit’s debut Escape Music is a slick combination of quality samples and fiendish beats. The smorgasbord of soul, jazz, funk and reggae influences is made all the better by not taking itself too seriously, putting a grin on your face as you nod along to the lines of some of Britain’s most promising emcees” – UKHH
“Imagine an i-Pod shuffle stuffed full of some of the best funk, hip hop and soul tracks ever recorded and that’s pretty much what you get from a Mouse Outfit show” – GIG JUNKIES
