You're all going to heaven ... (19 Dec 2006)
A huge thanks and respect to Saturday night's bands - Mostly Autumn, Chris Helme and Hijack Oskar - and everybody who came along to the show. Not forgetting everybody who bought tickets even though they couldn't come anyway, and everybody who emptied their pockets in to the bucket at the end of the night. Just short of £1700 was raised for The Guardian Angels Appeal, a fund organised by The Yorkshire Evening Press to provide improved baby care facilities at York Hospital. Hey, and the music was a bit special too ... Full story...
So it's not just us then ... (13 Aug 2006)
The legendary and utterly wonderful CBGBs; the late USA home of underground and punk; you all wear the T-shirts. They checked ID too. They were strict on drugs and underage drinking as well. They also had nights when nobody turned up. So it's not just Fibbers, then. Have a look at THIS written by the CBGBs staff. Well well well ... Full story...

Dirk Macrae (5 Jul 2006)
It is with great sadness that we learnt of the sudden death of Dirk Macrae. In possession of a powerful and emotive voice, Dirk with guitar in hand and musical mission to fulfil was a powerful force. Regularly gracing the Fibbers stage, The Asylum Seekers played us wonderful summery pop with an edge and humour and 'yer man was equally capable of enthralling us all inna solo stylee, too. Not only that, Dirk would help out young musicians and, on more than one occassion, happily ferried his gear to Fibbers for someone else to use, taking time out from his own busy schedule. All here will miss him. Full story...

Pioneer. Music Lover. Gent. (26 Oct 2004)
Much loved Radio 1 and Radio 4 presenter, John Peel OBE, has died suddenly on holiday in Peru.
The veteran broadcaster had worked for Radio 1 since its launch in 1967 and was seen as being single-handedly responsible for introducing British listeners to a huge range of styles, including punk rock, reggae and hip-hop.
He was also the first English DJ to play a record twice in a row - Teenage Kicks by the Undertones - which he often described as his favourite record. Leeds-based The Wedding Present were one of his favourite bands of all time.
John Peel had an amazingly eclectic taste and was also known affectionately for on-air blunders, including playing records at the wrong speed.
He leaves behind his wife Sheila (namechecked on air as The Pig!) and four children.
Fibbers says: A true radio pioneer; a true music lover; a gentleman. There will be never be anybody else remotely like him. Full story...
As if you're really there (14 Feb 2004)
After a long period sulking in the confines of computer chip cramp, the webcam is back! Uploading every ten minutes from 8.30pm Greenwich Mean Time every night, you can experience the wonder of Fibbers without the heat, smoke, noise and that annoying tall bloke who is always in front of you and WON'T MOVE. However, you also don't get to admire the smiley and beautiful bar staff or sup on cold beer and hot coffee. There's no guarantees you won't get the occasional roadie's arse or somebody wrapping up a lead but that's just the fun of the fair, ain't it? Happy viewing, that's all folks ... Full story...
Ain't no sunshine now he's gone (30 Nov 2001)
Beatles legend George Harrison has died at the age of 58, after a long battle against cancer. The youngest of the Fab Four, he was often overshadowed by Lennon & McCartney but never underestimated by them; or those who took the trouble to listen to And All Things Must Pass or The Traveling Wilburys. Cancer. Want to make a difference? (29 Nov 2001)
You can help in the fight against cancer. It will take just five minutes of your time today, and won't cost you anything. Tricky decision eh? More than 382,000 computers generating 85,000,000 hours are currently involved in this project in conjunction with the National Foundation for Cancer Research and Oxford University (read about this on their site) in the fight against cancer. COME ON! Read the full story - MAKE A DIFFERENCE!! It is now over one year since we started and between Fibbs and its customers, we have donated the equivalent computing power of a super high spec PC running continuously for over 3 years! Thank you all. Perhaps now's the time to ditch that Homer Simpson screen saver and move on .... Full story...
Like a Rolling Stone .... (17 Oct 2001)
Nice to see that little old Fibbs is just the right size for all sorts of folks. A pleasure and an honour therefore to have none other than the drummer of probably the world's greatest ever rock'n'roll band, The Rolling Stones, showing up with Chas'n'Dave last week. Come back soon, Charlie Watts. Full story...
