Almost ten years to the day since they first appeared at Fibbers, THE SUBWAYS are back!

Welwyn Garden City’s finest return with a special one off summer single ‘My Heart Is Pumping to a Brand New Beat’ on June 23rd, via the bands own label YFE (Young For Eternity) Records and Cooking Vinyl.

Written, produced and mixed by Billy Lunn and released to mark ten years since winning the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition as an unsigned act, all aged just 17.

“I wrote this track after I recently resolved a difficulty in my life as I was surrounded by the pulsing beats of my favourite songs and a throng of complete strangers crashing around the dance floor”, said Billy, “Music has a wonderful power to heal wounds.”

Having recently broken new ground by playing South Africa & Russia, their first UK show for almost a year saw a packed out performance at The Great Escape Festival, headlining Concorde 2 on the Saturday night. Alongside Glastonbury, they have a main stage slot at this year’s Hurricane & Southside Festivals in Germany and are set to headline Camden Rocks Festival in London.

Last word to Billy, “We will rock till we drop, as there is nothing more exciting for us than being on tour. The greatest drug in the world is seeing people screaming the words and dancing to the songs you’ve written. To get up onstage and to play rock and roll every day, to visit new towns, new cities, new countries, new continents and to make new friends along the way, it’s the most amazing experience we’ve ever felt!”
