Vocalist, bassist and songwriter GLENN HUGHES is a living, breathing personification of British rock, with the classic career arc and attendant lifestyle.

No other rock musician has carved such a distinctive style blending the finest elements of hard rock, soul and funk. That astonishing ‘Voice Of Rock’ is Hughes’ calling card. He’s known as a singer’s singer and no less than Stevie Wonder named him his ‘favourite white singer’.

It’s a compelling story from acclaimed 70s funk-rock band TRAPEZE to DEEP PURPLE at their commercial peak. Flying the world in Starship 1, the band’s own Boeing jet, Hughes enthusiastically embraced the rock superstar’s lifestyle while playing on three Purple albums, including the classic BURN.

When the band split in 1976 Hughes embarked on a breakneck run of solo albums, collaborations and even a brief, chaotic spell fronting Black Sabbath.

All of this was accompanied by cocaine psychosis, crack addiction and other excesses, before Hughes survived a clean-up-or-die crisis, and embarked on a reinvigorated solo career enriched by a survivor’s wisdom.

The set will showcase highlights from Glenn’s colourful career: Trapeze, Purple, Black Country Communion, California Breed and solo material – joined by none other than Whitesnake/Dio guitarist DOUG ALDRICH (“Ronnie introduced us years ago and I felt it was time to ask Doug to rock with me. It’s gonna be E P I C…”) and Glenn’s regular powerhouse Swedish drummer PONTUS ENGBORG.

“I’ve lived in LA most of my life but my career started in the UK and it’s always a great pleasure for me to play here”, said Glenn, “I love my fans, and personally interact with them online, or at venues on my travels. There is no greater high than performing and to reach out to my fan base”.

And it’s been a whirlwind of a life right up to his triumphant re-emergence in recent supergroups BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION and CALIFORNIA BREED.
