Formed Oxford ’89 around core members Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge. SWERVEDRIVER emerged with a heavier rock feel than their contemporaries and evolved to embrace psychedelia, classic pop and indie.

They called it ‘easydelic’…

However, bundled up in the Oxford shoe gaze tsunami of the time (Ride, Radiohead etc) Swervedriver nevertheless projected a much tougher image, drawing their name and much of their lyrical imagery from American car culture and films.

Lush, dense arrays of loud/quiet guitars and sometimes described as shoegaze meets emo – but we’re not really sure about that one…

Five albums in (Raise, Mezcal Head, Ejector Seat Reservation, 99th Dream and 2015’s I Wasn’t Born To Lose You) it really is long overdue for Swervedriver to visit York.

Amazing gig on the horizon, folks…
