Headlined by THE HOWL AND THE HUM! Having played hugely successful, and largely sold out, shows all over the UK in 2018, blown minds at festivals throughout the summer, been playlisted on Radio 1, notched up several MILLION streams on Spotify, and raved about left, right and centre by all who have witnessed them, this band are already on the lips and hearts of all the cool kids, a miserable disco writing Bond themes for films where Jimmy is still hung up on that girl. Combining dark hypnotic pop with post-punk, pierced with lyrics that make you call your mum the next morning. “A seriously great band, from whom you will be hearing a great deal more in the coming months.” – Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

Well, we’ve banging on about THE BOSSCAINE BIG BAND since dinosaurs roamed the earth and, for the uninitiated, what ‘yer missing is a unique blend of Americana, scored heavily with soul, bluegrass, country, folk, punk, blues, rock and roll and more. The musical vehicle of award-winning, permanently gigging, hard living, Sundown Sessions curating, Busk @ Dusk hosting, genre blending, troubadouring Yorkshire cowboy, songwriter, Daniel Lucas.

Playing relentlessly both solo and with various line ups of his incredibly talented musical collective, he has notched up literally thousands of gigs, playing bars, venues, theatres, festivals, house concerts, and more, all over the UK, supporting the likes of Richard Hawley, Willy Mason, Beans On Toast, Guillemots, Justin Townes Earle, Shooter Jennings, Alabama 3, The Undertones, Arlo Guthrie and many, many more.

And all tied together by Lucas’s immediately identifiable, heart breaking, gravelly baritone vocal. The latest album, ‘Loved by trouble, troubled by love’ has been receiving five star reviews the world over, many of which have cited it as a ‘potential album of the year for 2018’. “Stunning talent!! Really something!!” – ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris (BBC Radio 2) // “A class act! The new Warren Zevon!” – Reverend D. Wayne Love, Alabama 3 // “Great stuff!” – Arlo Guthrie. Phew…

And another of our favourite bands, …AND THE HANGNAILS, since the beginning when we’ve had ’em on with The Temperance Movement, Jim Jones, Deap Vally, The Fall, Slaves, The Datsuns and The Stranglers. To be fair, they’ve blown most of them away… “Rarely is a UK punk band as exhilarating as York’s …And The Hangnails” – NME // “Rare to find an emerging band as colourful and powerful as this” – Glastonbury Festival // “Consistently brilliant adrenaline shots of ‘loud-as-fuck-guitar-pop” – Cultured Vultures.

The brand new, super exciting, wild as hell TRIANGLE TRIANGLE TRIANGLE mash up country, psych, trashy bluesy folky in a rock and rolly combo fronted by former Hijak Oscar frontman, Tim Fox’s trademark kick ass, genre jumping, rebel rousing racket. These boys could even get a party going in Theresa May’s drawers.

And opening it all up BELLA, POLLY & THE MAGPIES! Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award winner Bella Gaffney (guitar & vox) and acclaimed mandolin player Polly Bolton came together last year, fusing Celtic folk with bluegrass in an exciting new collaboration. Joined by Holly Brandon (fiddle), this trio is already establishing a fearsome reputation for their glittering live shows, onstage rapport and genre-busting original and traditional material. “A natural chemistry… all three voices blend and harmonise beautifully… the mix of styles offers so much promise” – Folk Radio UK͞

As usual, everybody is giving their services for free – this year it’s for KITCHEN FOR EVERYONE YORK (providing free meals for homeless and breadline families in the York area) and WE SHALL OVERCOME.

Donations of tinned/packeted food, clothing (especially jackets and socks), bedding (sleeping bags, blankets, tents etc..) and cash on the night are all gladly received. Just bring ’em down and we’ll make sure they’re safe.
