Put simply, their influence on the jazz world as we know it today cannot be underestimated – they are bonafide legends of the game and it’s a privilege to welcome them to York. Yes, YORK…!

The Headhunters are Bill Summers – Percussion // Mike Clark – Keys // Chris Severin – Bass // Pat Clahar – Sax // Kyle Roussel – Keys.

Debut album HEAD HUNTERS (1973) is one of the best-selling jazz/fusion records ever, the first jazz album to go platinum – and continually ranked in ‘Greatest Album Of All Time’ lists worldwide.

From the instant funk classic CHAMELEON to the rare-groove sound of GOD MAKE ME FUNKY The Headhunters have redefined modern funk, world music, and jazz as one of the most innovative groups in history.

And in 2007, the Library of Congress added it to the National Recording Registry, a special collection of culturally, historically or aesthetically important sound recordings from the 20th century

Recording and releasing four critically acclaimed & best selling albums ’73 to ’77, three alongside Herbie Hancock and their first record without him, Survival Of The Fittest featuring the world wide smash hit and regularly sampled God Make Me Funky.

Come 1998 and The Headhunters and Herbie Hancock joined forces once again for the comeback album Return Of The Headhunters. The band has continued to make world class records & tour the globe much to the delight of fans everywhere.
