The imitators are many but THE FEDERALS tore up York’s rule book and defined fuzzed-up f***-off garage. No Costa and Ginsters in this pit stop, just burning fuel and rubber. No dipsticks, no oily rags; just high octane MC5/Ramones petrol power and they stood above the rest with bloody great tunes as well. TRANSISTOR 1969 live at Proud, Camden – still mind-blowing…
Also confirmed, the very wonderful and tunesome BLUEPRINTS who sidestep the usual indie posturing and concentrate on great songs and a great show. Checkout WALK and try to disagree. You can’t you…
The Xmas charity gigs of Daniel Lucas aka Boss Caine aka GT Turbo have been an institution for over a decade, from buying food and clothing for the homeless (and distributing on Xmas Day) to raising cash for worthy causes.
And once more York musicians and gig-goers step up and give to those less fortunate, donating all proceeds to a nominated charity (£1500 last year) – and this year it will be MEDICINS SANS FRONTIERS.
This line-up is just the start, more acts are being added all the time, and the night promises to be a wonderful and worthy night’s entertainment stretching past the usual curfew and in to the night with DJs next door in the Bier Keller.
More news to follow, but AS USUAL IT WILL BE PACKED so either get a ticket purchased online, from the venue, Old Guys Rule on Stonegate (opposite Evil Eye) or from any of the performers.
